How to Stay Consistently Organized

Do you envy people who always seem to have their house company ready? Perhaps you wonder how it is even possible? In the past I never understood how people always seemed to have their house in order. Then I discovered the secret: organizational habits.

The perfectly organized closet is actually useless without the habits to back it up. Without these healthy habits our homes go right back to cluttered. We should never expect perfection, we live and our homes and nobody is perfect! Listed below are some healthy habits that every family can incorporate to stay consistently tidy.

  1. Finish what you start. Again, were not talking about perfection here, this habit is one I am constantly working on. If you are like me, perhaps you tend to start a project and remember that you have something else you could or should be doing and it ends up leaving clutter in your wake. If this sounds like you then one thing you can do is try to finish what you have started. If you remember another project during this time then take a moment to write it down. Making a list is a very satisfying way to get through your projects and keep you on track.

  2. Tidy as you go. If you open a cabinet and the cups are turned over or in the wrong place take a minute to set it back. Don’t overwhelm your self with the whole kitchen. Just take one drawer or cabinet as you go. Once you have this habit down everything will seem to magically find it’s home!

  3. Night Time Reset. Every night take 15 minutes to spruce up the house. Clean the dishes in the sink, wipe down counters, pick up the table/coffee table. To cut this time in half get the whole family on board! If everyone pitches in after dinner or before bed the house can be reset and ready for whatever the next day throws at it.

Remember to not expect perfection from yourself or your family right away. Habits take time to build. To get yourself started on the right foot get the house organized. If that task seems daunting maybe it would be worth the investment to hire some professional help. Book your free consultation to get started on your road to organization today.
