Tips For Purchasing Organizing Products

Before becoming a professional organizer I thought the best part of organizing was buying all the pretty bins and baskets. However I made some crucial mistakes that I am going to save you the headache of repeating.

  1. Declutter. This will always be the first and most important step. This will allow you to take inventory of what you have and what you will need to buy in order to best organize the space you are working in.

  2. Measure. And then measure again. Get all the angles, depth, height, width, length and if you are dealing with multiple shelves make sure that you measure each one.

  3. Maximize. Be sure that you are using every inch of the space to it’s best potential. If there is more vertical space to be used, use it

  4. Think Outside the Box. Can you make use of an over the door method, flip a bin on it’s side to create “shelves”, use a kitchen organizing product in the bathroom, etc?

Following these 4 simple steps can help you avoid mistakes that cause frustration, & cost time and money! Nobody wants to stand in a line to return things, make your life easier by planning ahead and thinking outside the box.
